The specific and primary purposes of the National Board for Certification in Continuity
of Care are:
- To support the development and implementation of certification programs in the field
of continuity of care;
- To promote educational programs for the preparation of candidates for certification
- To promote educational programs for the continuing education of those who hold a
credential in continuity of care.
To establish and maintain a series of credentialing programs for professional competence
in the field of continuity of care. Continued competence in the profession shall
be promoted through the recertification of qualified individuals.
Membership is limited to those organizations that offer a credentialing program
in the field of continuity of care, which encompasses a range of services, environments,
and a variety of relationships between patients/clients and the delivery of healthcare.
